Datadog Integration

Stay on top of observability — list and get monitors, list events and dashboards, and mute or unmute monitors or post events (writes require approval).

Capabilities

This integration enables workers to:

  • List monitors
  • Get a monitor
  • List events
  • List dashboards
  • Mute a monitor (approval-gated)
  • Unmute a monitor (approval-gated)
  • Post an event (approval-gated)

Setup

Follow these steps to connect Datadog:

  1. Create a Datadog API key and an application key (Organization Settings → API Keys / Application Keys)
  2. Navigate to Integrations and click 'Add Connection'
  3. Select Datadog and enter your API key, application key, and (if not US1) your Datadog site
  4. Assign your operations/security workers to use it

Security

  • The API key and application key are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM)
  • Scope the application key to a least-privilege account
  • Muting/unmuting monitors and posting events require human approval

Credential Storage

All integration credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. OAuth tokens are automatically refreshed when needed.
