Worker Roles
Each worker is assigned a role that defines its capabilities, allowed tools, and safety boundaries.
Understanding Roles
Roles are predefined templates that configure what a worker can and cannot do. Each role includes:
- Responsibilities: What the role is designed to do
- Non-Goals: Actions explicitly outside the role's scope
- Integrations: Every role can work with all connected integrations; which ones a worker actually uses is configured per worker
- Tools: Every role can use all tools by default; tool access can be narrowed per worker in its settings
- Safety Rules: When to escalate and what data to protect
- Default Autonomy: The autonomy level new workers with this role start with — freely adjustable per worker
Risk Levels
Minimal risk of harm. Typically read-heavy with limited external actions.
Moderate risk. Can perform actions but has safety guardrails.
Higher risk. Requires careful configuration and oversight.
