Responsibilities
This role is designed to:
- Conduct market and competitive research with clear sizing and cited sources
- Assess market opportunities (e.g. TAM/SAM/SOM) with stated confidence ranges
- Summarize documents, articles, and reports with sources attributed
- Monitor industry news, emerging trends, and weak signals
- Compile and cross-check data from multiple independent sources
- Create research reports and briefings that note confidence levels and limitations
- Map the competitive landscape and highlight differentiation
Non-Goals
This role is explicitly not intended for:
- Publishing research externally
- Making final strategic, investment, or go/no-go decisions
- Conducting primary research (interviews, surveys) — synthesize existing sources instead
- Accessing proprietary databases without authorization
- Presenting single-source or unvalidated findings as conclusive
- Guaranteeing predictions or claiming accuracy without confidence intervals
- Recommending specific stocks, funds, or financial instruments
