Projects

Plan and execute complex multi-phase projects with AI workers, using blueprints and human oversight.

What are Projects?

Projects in CreateWorker allow you to break down complex objectives into structured phases and steps, with AI workers executing each step while humans maintain oversight at key gates.

Unlike individual tasks, projects support multi-phase execution with dependencies, parallel work, and approval gates between phases.

Project Structure

Each project consists of:

  • Blueprint: The AI-generated plan defining phases and steps
  • Phases: Major milestones with approval gates
  • Steps: Individual tasks assigned to workers
  • Project Run: An instance of executing a blueprint

Project Lifecycle

  1. Planning: Describe your objective and let AI generate a blueprint
  2. Review: Review and approve the proposed blueprint
  3. Execution: Workers execute steps in sequence or parallel
  4. Gates: Human approval required between phases
  5. Completion: Project marked complete when all phases finish

Project Status

DRAFTBlueprint pending approval
RUNNINGProject is actively executing
PAUSEDExecution temporarily paused by user
BLOCKEDWaiting for input or external dependency
COMPLETEDAll phases successfully completed
FAILEDProject encountered unrecoverable error
CANCELLEDProject cancelled by user

Project Controls

Project owners and managers have access to controls for managing execution:

  • Pause: Temporarily halt project execution
  • Resume: Continue a paused project
  • Cancel: Stop the project permanently with a reason
  • Export History: Download project timeline as CSV
  • Export Audit Logs: Download detailed audit logs as CSV

Decision Explanations

Every significant decision in a project is documented with explanations:

  • Why a specific worker was assigned to a step
  • How phase gates were evaluated
  • Rationale for status changes

Access explanations by clicking “Why was this worker assigned?” on any step.

Project History

Project actions are tracked for visibility:

  • Who performed each action and when
  • Status changes with timestamps
  • Worker proposals and executions
